The power of Zero to change your life

A man was pulled over by a police officer for driving through a stop sign. The police officer asked the man why he hadn’t stopped.

“I slowed right down and could see that the road was clear” said the man.

“yes, but you didn’t stop” said the officer.

“But I went really, really slow”

“but you didn’t stop”

“what’s the difference between going really, really, really slow and stopping?” the man asked

“$200” said the officer.

The difference between zero and a little bit can be enormous.

This BLOG is about the power of zero – if you grasp the implications it will change your life

Nobody learns their zero times tables at school – because it’s too easy…

1 x 0 = 0

2 x 0 = 0

… 12 x 0 = 0

the answer is always zero!

Intimate relationships in the bible are described in terms of multiplication equations

‘… a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.’

Two (2) become one (1) – 1 and 1 can only equal 1 through multiplication (and division – but that’s another story)

1 x 1 = 1   two become one

We can say that their lives, because of an intimate relationship, are multiplied together they are not merely added to each other

In the same way the bible says that ‘…he who is joined to the Lord becomes one spirit with Him.’

Two (2) become one (1) – our life becomes multiplied together with His

1 x 1 = 1

Jesus had zero sin

If Jesus had zero sin and our lives are multiplied together, through an intimate relationship, then we have no sin

So, if you sinned every second of every hour of every day of your life and then you ‘joined yourself to the Lord and became one Spirit with Him’ the equation looks like this:

3600 sins/hr x 24 hrs/day x 365 days/year x your age x 0 = 0

His sinless sacrifice is enough for the whole world – even if everyone was as bad as you!!

3600 sins/hr x 24 hrs/day x 356 days/year x 40 years x 7,000,000,000 people x 0 = 0

‘He who knew no sin became sin for us that we might become the righteousness of God in him’

‘Come lets us reason together says the Lord – though your sins be as scarlet they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool’

It’s important that we don’t just add the Lord to our life, because adding zero has no effect whatsoever, but if we enter into an intimate relationship with Him, we become sinless – it’s the only possible mathematical solution to the equation!

‘But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin.’

And just for good measure try and divide a number by zero using your calculator. You will get an error message because the answer is what’s known as a singularity. Engineers and Scientists describe physical phenomenon with equations. If the denominator of the equation tends toward zero (meaning it is being divided by zero) whatever the equation is describing will be destroyed. It’s like the piercing screech you hear when a microphone gets feedback.

‘The reason the SON of God came was to destroy the forces of evil’

Your life can be multiplied by Him

Darkness is divided by Him
